We Are Writers of Action. Lies Do Not Become Us.

I’ve told dozens one or two lies in my life, but it always makes me feel superduper guilty. I can’t take it and have to tell the truth! So what’s the point of lying if your conscience makes you tell the truth? I think it's one of the reasons I love writing fiction so much: I can make up stories without feeling guilty about it because everyone already knows the stories aren’t true!
With that said, I’m going to tell you a few lies today. Last week Miriam of Dancing with Dragons is Hard on Your Shoes passed on the Bald Faced Liar "Creative Writer" Blogger Award to all of her followers. Thank you, Miriam!

I thought it’d be fun to play this game and pass on the award to my awesome creative lying creative writing followers. The following list tells six lies and one truth. It’s up to you to guess the truth! I’ll reveal the answers sometime next week, probably sooner than later. Or am I lying about that? Heehee! Here we go:

1. When I was 12, I tried making the elite gymnastics junior national team and finished in last place (or, depending how you look at it, as the 24th winner).

2. I have 11 siblings: 9 brothers and two sisters.

3. I have a twin brother.

4. It’s not definite whether I was born before midnight Oct. 19 or after midnight Oct. 20. My birth certificate says Oct. 20, but my family celebrates my birthday both days.

5. I am seriously superstitious.

6. When I was 10 months old, I burned my face and hands on a charcoal grill.

7. I first saw my husband when we were 16. He entered the classroom, we locked eyes, and the rest, as they say, was history!

Share with me!
After guessing my truth, do you know where the title of this post comes from? (I changed one word.)

I'm going with #4. I know, I seem like a follower here, but Oct. 19 is my first daughter's baptism anniversary so that one stood out. Will look forward to hearing the truth of it. :)

Huh, we have the same birthday if it's Oct 20. :)

I'm gonna go with number one. Only because I remember you mentioning something about gymnastics on my blog. at least, i think it was you! lol. I looked at number six and thought 'how the hell does a ten month old get anywhere near a charcoal grill?'

Laura, it's number one. Final answer.

I am picking number one, as I used to do gymnastics and always wanted to be in a national team but it wasn't to be! Oh, and there is an award for you on my blog. :)

Congrats on the award! I'm going with nr 2... 11 siblings is just too much - or is it?

I think the truth is that you have a twin bro!!!!!! :)

And I think the quote came from The Princess Bride! Right??

I'll cast my vote with the others. I'd pick #3 as the truth, you have a twin brother. And am clueless about the quote ...

I hope #7 is the truth. I love a good "how we first met" story! :)

Oh, I am going to guess that number 7 is true because that's the one I want to be true!! :) I actually met my husband when I was 14. Crazy how things work out. Please tell me number 6 is a lie. That sounds so awful and sad :(

Aww, I hope number seven is true! Having a twin brother would be second runner up.
