Yesterday was my birthday! I’m in my late middle twenties! I can remember being twelve years old and thinking I’d never ever be a teenager. Now here I am, very much out of my teens and just four years away from my thirties. Yeesh! How the heck did that happen?
I love it though. I may not be exactly where I thought I’d be by this age…I’ve had a lot of failures in my twenties so far. But I’ve had some successes, too, plus some wonderful bonuses: I’m healthy. I’m married to a super sexy man who appreciates me and makes me laugh every day. I’m welcomed into an amazing blogging community of super talented writers. My kitchen is filled with good food. My bookcases are full of delightful characters to meet and places to go. I have more than enough pens and pencils to keep me writing forever. I have supportive family and friends and the cutest niephlings ever. I have a roof over my head and warm blankets on my bed. And I have leftover chocolate birthday cake for dinner dessert tonight!
It’s a blessing to celebrate birthdays every year. Too many amazing people never get to see their teen years or their 26th or 30th or 45th or 70th birthdays. So remember the above quote the next time you start freaking out about your birthday. You are SO lucky to be the age you are each year!

I thought my twenties were something else, but looking back I guess every age has its own magic which you will not know about until you arrive there.
