Start it up!
Exercise 1
When you were a child, what did you imagine your happiest moment in life would be? Has this turned out to be true? Write it.
Ramp it up!
Exercise 2: from Writer’s Digest
Choose an inanimate subject (an object, place, idea, or emotion) and describe it using action verbs.
Burn it up!
Exercise 3
Cool it down.
Exercise 4
Write a flash fiction story based on your favorite song from your teenage years.
Every Wednesday I post prompts and exercises for your “writing workout” so keep checking back! Happy writing!!!

Hi Laura--good ones!! But I can't make a romantic scene funny when it's GOT to be steamy. :-)))
Laura, you always have the best writing prompts! If I took Exercise 4, it would be pretty embarrassing because it would probably be some cheesy Backstreet Boys song. Siiigh. LOL
#2 would be a great one for a photography project. :D
Most of my favorite songs in my teen years had lyrics that didn't make sense. I'd probably have to write something really weird. Ha! Great exercises.
Hmmm.... that number 4 would be a doozy of a story. I was a teenager in the '80s - 'nuff said :)
Christina- Lol, then that might make a good exercise for you to try!
Julie- Ahahaha, same here!!
Stina- Sure, that's a good idea too!
Carolina- I know what you mean! The music from my teen years were by teens singing about things they knew nothing about, LoL!
Susanna- Oooo, I love '80s music though! I think it's the best thing to come out of that decade. So fun!
