MQD – Loving Your Writing! Part 2

To be successful, the first thing to do is fall in love with your work.
{Sister Mary Lauretta}

Writing does not mean putting aside your head to write from the heart. Instead, writing is an expression of the emotional and the logical coming together.
{Martha Alderson}

Plotting is like sex. Plotting is about desire and satisfaction, anticipation and release.
{Colin Greenland}

I can't write without a reader. It's precisely like a kiss–you can't do it alone.
{John Cheever}

Your true passion should feel like breathing, it’s that natural.
{Oprah Winfrey}

Love is easy, and I love writing. You can’t resist love. Someone says something, you get an idea, and you’re in love.
{Ray Bradbury}

When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece.
{John Ruskin}

The one story worth telling is the one that strikes most nearly to the heart. For each person, that story will be different, for each heart is like a harp with its own distinct tuning. When the melody of love vibrates the strings, that one story is the distinctive music we shall make.
{Caitlin Matthews}

Happy Monday and happy writing, Zigzaggers!!!
Have a beautiful Valentines Day with your family & friends!!

Okay, I never thought of plotting like sex. But that's a great quote. Thanks for sharing this.

You know, Laura, I never seem to get pass your first couple of quotes. They all speak to me. Your first quote, today, is exactly what I've needed to hear. I've been struggling plotting out the sequel to my first book. Falling in love again, with the story and characters is what I need to do. Hmm...I think I'll take them out to lunch. LOL

Great combination of love and writing! I like the second quote best - the best writing comes when you let it pour from the heart, even if it feels exposed and vulnerable.

Love Oprah's quote. If what we want doesn't set us on fire, then it's not a real passion.

YES YES YES! All these quotes say it all, but I must admit Colin's made me giggle. :D
