The best books come from someplace deep inside. Become emotionally involved. If you don't care about your characters, your readers won't either.
{Judy Blume}
The truth is, you have to have fun with it. It is fun. You have to do it because you love it, and if you love it, the rest will come.
{Katherine Applegate}
[My novel] took up the sweetest part of my mind and the rarest part of my imagination; it was like being in love and better.
{Muriel Spark}
If the communication is perfect, the words have life, and that is all there is to good writing, putting down on the paper words which dance and weep and make love and fight and kiss and perform miracles.
{Gertrude Stein}
There's nothing wrong with reading a book you love over and over. When you do, the words get inside you, become a part of you, in a way that words in a book you've read only once can't.
{Gail Carson Levine}
I love revision. We can’t go back and revise our lives, but being allowed to go back and revise our writing comes closest.
{Katherine Paterson}
Let me live, love, and say it well in good sentences.
{Sylvia Plath}
Love. Fall in love and stay in love. Write only what you love, and love what you write. The word is love. You have to get up in the morning and write something you love, something to live for.
{Ray Bradbury}

Great quotes on loving writing! Have a great day.
The books I've enjoyed I've read over and over, and I always find something new.
I love the first one. I agree with it 100!
And yes to the one on revisions. If only it was as easy to revise our mistakes in life as it is to revise our WIPs. :D
Excellent quotes!
Hugs and chocolate,

OMG this is perfect: "I love revision. We can’t go back and revise our lives, but being allowed to go back and revise our writing comes closest."
Thanks for posting this. I am going to make it my new, inspirational screen saver!
Great quotes. I especially love the one on revision.
Love Gail Carson Levine quote. I do read some books over and over for that very reason.
These quote not only spoke to me today...they sang. Thanks.
Maybe that's why I enjoy revisions so much - it's the one thing I can go back and fix!
Judy Blume nailed it on the head!!! :)
I knew I could count on your wonderful blog and Monday posts for motivation :) P.S. There's a new show called The Carrie Diaries where the MC wants to be a writer and she referenced Judy Blume in tonight's episode!
Hope you're well, Laura!!
Excellent quotes. I like Katherine Paterson's most, because it is sort of how I feel about revisions. :-D
Love these quotes - the one about revisions stood out for me. I think that's one of the cool things about writing - we can fix things!
Oh goodness I just love these. All of them. they actually made me go look up more quotes by Paterson and Blume and more.
Wow, Ray Bradbury--that quote got me pumped up!
The first one and the last (Ray Bradbury...sigh) my favorites!
Oh! That Paterson quote might make me think differently about revising - so very true! :)
I don't enjoy revision. But that Katherine Paterson quote helps me to look at revising from an angle I haven't thought of before. I suppose then that revising is as close as I'd ever come to time traveling.
